For those of you that have been following me for a while, you know that I have been fixing up homes from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina for several years now. Just when I thought that project was coming to an end, Hurricane Isaac hit Louisiana exactly 7 years to the day that Katrina hit and devastated this area once again. After my recent tour to Atlanta with investors to show them my turn-key properties, we decided to go over to New Orleans to see what was happening there. I actually didn’t see New Orleans until a few years after Katrina, so the worst was over by the time I got there. I haven’t really been hearing much about Hurricane Isaac in the news, so wasn’t expecting to see the devastating damage that we saw. One of my realtors, Joy, lost everything. We toured her neighborhood and I have included a short video to show a small sample of what we saw. The video nor the photos really capture the destruction. It was unlike anything I have ever seen – I can only describe it as a war zone. One of the saddest events that happened when we were there was when Joy discovered two of her three dogs deceased in the garage. I am a huge animal lover so this was very disturbing for me, not only to find the dogs, but to see Joy have to go through this. Here are some other pictures that we took of the Braithwaite neighborhood that she lives in. The first one is Joy’s house. The inside is completely destroyed. The middle one is of some gravestones that we saw that had washed up on the side of the road, and the third picture is a semi truck flipped over. Displaced vehicles were all over the place, as well as a lot of debris and we even saw a whole house that had been picked up and moved from its lot to across the street :

Giving Back

I am committed to giving back to help my friends to the South get back on their feet. I will be donating a portion of the proceeds of my home sales, tours and mentorship programs to helping Joy and the people of Louisiana rebuild their lives and their homes. Watch my video here to see what I am doing to be doing to provide assistance to this worthy cause. If you would like to get involved and help with this worthy project, please give me a call at 1-888-265-0662 or email me here.
